Miguel Faus Launches NFT Fundraising for his Feature Film – Calladita

Faus has partnered with Emily Mortimer and Jim Cummings to create this film

Following his short film, Calladita, Miguel Faus is directing a new feature film of the same name and launching an NFT collection to fund this film. The collection will be launching on March 2 at the Calladita website.

If Faus and his team are successful with their NFT fundraising, Calladita could be the first European film to be financed entirely through an NFT collection. The film features British actress Emily Mortimer (Match Point, The Newsroom) and actors Antonio de la Torre (El reino, La trinchera infinita) and Susana Abaitúa (Patria).

Calladita is a character study on Ana – the protagonist – and through her eyes, we see a portrait of the Catalan high bourgeoisie, with a mixture of realism,” says Calladita director Miguel Faus. “The film touches on themes of class differences and racial injustices from a perspective that is both profound and sophisticated. In this way, we’ve moved away from facile clichés and caricatures.”

The project team includes Julie Pacino – who recently released the first fiction film ever to be financed by NFTs – and Executive Producer Jim Cummings. Joining the film crew as Director of Photography is Goya winner Daniela Cajías (Alcarras).

In addition to launching the main NFT collection, Faus has also developed partnerships with various artists who will create the Calladita Art Collection. This collection will consist of a series of 1/1 NFT pieces inspired by Calladita and created especially for this campaign. The profits will be distributed equally between the artists and the film budget.

This new feature film is based on the short film Calladita. Both films have been directed and written by Miguel Faus, a renowned screenwriter and director who has participated in several international festivals (including the Palm Springs ShortFest, the Miami Film Festival and the London Short Film Festival).

The Calladita NFT collection will be minted on Ethereum and comprises 2,400 NFTs structured in 4 Tiers. Owning these NFTs will grant buyers access to benefits such as appearing in the credits of the film, or visiting the set.

About Calladita

Calladita tells the story of a young Colombian woman who works as a domestic worker in a summer mansion in the Costa Brava. While the family she works for enjoys their lush holidays, she spends her days cleaning and serving them. When she meets Gisela, the maid in the neighboring house, she learns that maybe she too can find her own ways to enjoy the summer.

The shooting of Calladita is scheduled for this summer on the Costa Brava.
